CONTEST RULES AND REGULATIONS
By entering the contest, participants agree to the following:
1. Participants must be at least 18 years of age.

2. Participants shall submit their own original stories, written in English, which they bear the legal right to submit.
3. Stories must be unpublished as of the submission deadline. (See unpublished definition on front page of website.)
4. Participants shall retain all rights to their stories.
5. Winning participants are responsible for all tax obligations that arise due to their award winnings.
6. Winners' names, general locations (e.g., state, country), and story titles will be listed on the website by December 5th of the contest year. Photos of winners with their award certificates may also be published, if submitted afterward.
7. All stories will be judged blind. The judges will not know who the authors are.
8. Stories will be judged on unique and memorable story line, fitting and memorable title, spelling, punctuation, grammar, author voice, presentation, etc.. All stories will be judged against the same criteria, and judges' decisions are final.
9. Short story submissions will be used strictly for determining contest winners, and all copies will be destroyed two weeks after winners are posted on the website.
10. Participants should retain a copy of their submitted stories, as they will not be returned.
11. Entry Fees, Cash Awards, etc.:
$10.00 USD per story; multiple entries allowed.

Two for the price of one (per author). Must submit both in the same email. No quantity limit for special rate.
$100 USD - First Place Cash Award
$75 USD - Second Place Cash Award
$50 USD - Third Place Cash Award
12. First, Second, and Third Place winners will receive a Cash Award and an Award Certificate. All other winners will receive an Award Certificate. All Cash Awards will be paid in US Dollars. Awards will be distributed as follows: USA winners will have their choice of a USPS Money Order or PayPal. All winners outside the USA will receive their cash awards via PayPal.
13. Winners will be individually notified by email, phone, or USPS mail, in that order of attempt. Certificates and Cash Awards will be sent to the mailing address originally submitted on the Cover Page unless participant submits a change of address before they are mailed.
14. Judges, their spouses/partners and children/step-children are not eligible to enter the contest or win awards.
15. This contest is void where prohibited by law.
